Every property or experience listed on the Thalassophi platform has undergone a rigorous and meticulous vetting process. We operate a very strict set of guidelines and protocols that very property and experience must align with to ensure that only the best homes are listed on the platform.
How Does the Protocol Work?
Thalassophi launches stepwise in every destination. We then systematically analyse and review every potential home that is available for rental by creating a shortlist. This shortlist is then passed to one of our experts who meticulously inspects and goes through a regimental checklist process to ensure that all rentals meet our standards and requirements. For example:
- We check that every host reliable, responsive, trustworthy and has attention to detail.
- We ensure that all homes are clean and well-maintained.
- We make sure the photos show you a true depiction of the actual home or stay.
- All details such as the shower pressure, bathroom facilities, water source, air conditioning and the like are checked. If the facilities do not make the grade, then we will not list them.
Our aim is to ensure that we do the work, so you don’t have to. We leverage the power of AI to sift through ratings and property listings systematically, filtering out vacation rentals that do not meet our standards or pass our protocols
What Do We Expect from a Thalassophi Home?
As a company, we are committed to reducing travel and vacation dissatisfaction. We only select the best properties in each destination. As such, we stipulate that every Thalassophi home must meet the following criteria without exception:

- Be impeccably clean and well-maintained.
- Must have responsive, helpful, and well-mannered hosts.
- Provide a detailed home manual.
- Offer clean, high-quality beds and bedding.
- Ensure reliable and clean water sources, with good shower pressure and hot water.
- Have a well-stocked kitchen with sufficient crockery and functional amenities.
- Maintain cleaned pools with clean, recycled, and tested water.
- Provide strong WIFI.
- Offer basic kitchen utensils and well-presented toiletries.
- Have large living areas with functional amenities such as TV and Netflix.
- Ensure clean bathrooms without water source issues or blockage potential.
- Arrange for frequent cleaning between hosts and guests.
- Implement appropriate waste disposal and sanitation practices.

*On occasion we bring on homes with average design due to a unique and outstanding aspect. This may be an unforgettable and uniquely positioned location such as immediate sea views/access or exceptional amenities and services. As always, we will be transparent and tell you why we permitted the home unto our platform.
