Thalasso means sea in Greek, Thalassophi means sea wisdom. We chose the Thalassophi Mark of the Sea to represent those brands who are raising the bar. Adhering to sustainable, ethical, and socially responsible practices that contribute to higher standards and actions for enviormental conservation of our oceans and seas and the communities that depend upon them, as well as nature and people.

Each brand must undertake a careful question-based assessment based upon international standards and agreements, sustainable standards and frameworks and ensuing legislation.

Our process is continuous; we review every 2 –3 years to ensure that our partner brands are still aiming to meet these standards. Our Thalassophi mark signifies those brands undertaking continuous improvement and setting higher standards.

How Do I Become Thalssophi Mark Certified

The Thalassophi Mark Certification is granted to those brands, services and entities dedicated to sustainable development goals and raising higher standards for the conservation of the Earth’s Oceans, Seas, the communities that depend on them, Nature and People as a whole.

The Mark is not a brand but rather an emblem of those committed to continually pushing the towards achieving Global Sustainability Development Goals. Those brands and properties that meet these goals will then be rewarded with the Mark as well as the associated UN Sustainability Development Goal Icon.

To be certified as brand, entity or property that is adherent and dedicated to sustainable standards, Thalassophi requires that they meet one or more of the following criteria:
